The marine parts and services associate serves as a liaison between shop, sales, parts and warranty associates with a goal of ensuring the best possible service experience for customers.


Primary duties include:

  • Greet and interact with customers in person, via phone and via email inquiries.  Provide clear instructions on the work order for the technician.
  • Look up marine parts in various vendor systems to find the best solution to customer’s boat maintenance needs
  • File warranty claims and follow process through completion
  • Promote the sale of additional labor services, parts and accessories
  • Follow through all work orders from start to finish
  • Track technician efficiency and billable time
  • Bill and collect payment for service work



  • Fluent with MS Office including Excel and Outlook. Experience in TCS program strongly preferred.
  • Experience looking up parts, troubleshooting to determine root cause; resourceful in finding items and solutions
  • Accurate communicator with the ability to translate customer concerns
  • Prior experience as a marine technician strongly preferred.  This is a perfect opportunity for a technician looking to move from a hands-on role to a customer-facing role.
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills; ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Top notch customer service skills for an environment with high end marine brands and customers who expect a luxury experience
  • Ability to work a full time schedule including every other weekend

Paddle and Water Sports Enthusiast


Seeking a Paddle and Water Sports Enthusiast!


Rock Outdoors in Lexington, NC seeks someone passionate about being on the water and helping others fuel their water and paddle sport passions.  This retail position would require flexibility with hours (weekends and holidays), a customer service focused mindset, a willingness to learn, and the heart of a teacher.  The ideal candidate would be a self-proclaimed gear junkie, and have experience in multiple water and paddle sports--from skiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing, to kayaking and SUP.  Sailing experience is also a plus!  ACA  or PaddleFit certification along with the desire to teach classes, is a bonus. Manual labor including lifting/carrying kayaks and paddleboards, stocking the sales floor, checking out customers, cleaning, rigging kayaks and SUPs, installing vehicle rack systems, and proficient use of hand tools is required.


This is a part time, 3-5 days per week role with full time potential going into peak season.

Full-Time Retail Inventory Lead



Rock Outdoors in Lexington, NC now seeks a full time retail inventory lead with a passion for the outdoor industry—if you love to camp, hike, fish and enjoy the lake life, but also offer excellent attention to detail and can balance multiple tasks at once—this may be the gig for you!!  The ideal candidate will be proactive with a desire to learn our products and point of sale system, and tech savvy enough to help us troubleshoot system issues.  Although this is an inventory lead role, you would be customer-facing approximately 40% of the time.

Primary duties include:

  • Maintain accurate retail and warehouse inventory; track sell through and work with retail manager on reorders
  • Lead cycle-counts and the year-end inventory process
  • Process purchase orders and receivings, provide appropriate documentation to accounting team for accurate record keeping
  • Act in the best interest of the company as the manager on duty and key holder for opening and closing responsibilities
  • Develop relationships through consistent excellent customer service and leadership within the retail team
  • Learn product lines, understand key features to make accurate suggestions to customers
  • Assist with visual presentation of merchandise
  • Be aware of surroundings and monitor customers; escalate any instances of potential theft


  • Outdoor enthusiasts strongly preferred!
  • 2-5 years of prior retail and inventory experience required
  • Demonstrated dependability in prior cash handling roles
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varying hours, including weekends


Hourly compensation commensurate with experience.
